Makeup Monday | My wedding makeup

November 7, 2016 by Sarah Leave a Comment

I was honoured to marry my best friend on July 31st, 2016…

🙄 blegh too much sap…

I’m not very “romantic” and roll my eyes at the ends of Disney princess movies BUT in all seriousness, I did marry someone amazing & it was one of the best days of my life.

4 Ways to Wear Coloured Eyeshadow

August 29, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

I always love the bold and dramatic eyeshadow. I follow a few different makeup artists on Instagram and love to see what they come up with and what colour combo’s they choose.
Unfortunately, most of us can’t or are not allowed to wear such looks at work or school. Over the years I have done some things to add that subtle pop of colour. Over the week I filmed four ways I like to add some colour to my everyday makeup.
I’ll explain each look and products used. I will follow it up with the video to show you exactly how to achieve each look.

Green eyeshdow- Pop of colour1.) On the corner
This look I used the e.l.f Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadow in Outdoorsy. Its a nice evergreen colour. I apologize the picture does not do it justice.
I started by using e.l.f Cosmetics Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Beauty Queen’ on the brow bone and ‘Lunch Break’ in the crease.  I used a round shadow brush to make a ‘C’ with Outdoorsy and blended it well with an all over shadow brush.

2.) Purple-reverse smokey eyeUnder Colour
(tee-hee under-cover under-colour)
This look I used The same neutrals in the same way as look 1.
I then used e.l.f Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Flirty’ on my lower lash line. In order for this to stay I used the N.Y.X Jumbo eye pencil in ‘Milk’ and blended with my finger prior to applying the purple.
As an optional step, you can line your waterline with a purple liner. I used Avon Glimmertick in ‘Plum’

Blue shadow3.) All-Over Lid
This look is probably the easiest, In my opinion. Starting off you want to do the same steps with the neutrals on your brow bone and crease as step one.
Next I used the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette 2nd Editionby BH Cosmetics. I used the colour on the lower tier, fourth row, second from the bottom. Sorry there are no names.
Once you apply this to your lid make sure to blend it well with the crease shadow.

Aqua eyeliner
4.) All Lined Up
This one is my fave. I absolutely love this colour and love lining my eyes with it.
As with all of these looks start off by applying your neutrals as per step one.
Then I used Get in Line Hook Up Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner by Mark in Deep Aqua to line my eyes.
When Lining my eyes in a colour other than black or brown I tight-line my eyes. I used the Maybelline Gel liner. It is the best I’ve ever used…so far.
Without further adieu, here is the video with a more descriptive explanation on each look.

Everyday Essientals

August 25, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

I posted a video on my youtube channel for things I feel are useful to have with you everyday. I called it the Everyday Essentials/Emergency Kit.
Most females carry purses or a bag of sorts. We seem to be drawn to bigger bags because our current one doesn’t seem to fit everything we need. This problem never resolves itself after purchasing a larger bag/purse we always find ways to fill it.
I am no exception to this. Within the past two years Ive accumulated so many bags and purses. Since I have so Many I do like to switch between each one. With the issue of having so much crap switching out bags makes it difficult to make sure to bring everything with you. I have come up with the solution to have your everyday essentials/emergency kit in a separate smaller bag that you can take out easily and just transfer between bags. It also keeps everything neat, compact and tidy. It has all your daily needs minus wallet keys and cell phone. you will be prepared for anything at any time and it will be easy to access.
Here is the video where I will explain what I include and why.
Don’t forget to scroll further on this page to see where you can get some of the items Ive got in my kit.

Cute little Clutch.
My purple one is no longer available but this is a gold one which is also my mark.

Shine Blotters
These are the same ones Ive got. I really like that the packaging is not thick

Mini Brushes
These are the same ones I have. I like that each brush has its own slot. Its small and has a zipper but does not get caught on the bristles of the brushes. Having a case for the brushes is great. Its easy to grab and you don’t have to go searching.

Powder
I have used this powder and works well. Its a bigger and deeper compact so Its a little harder to put into your kit but If you’ve got the room its a good add. Currently I have the Clean and Clear blue powder to help with sweaty/greasy face.

Makeup Bag Starter Kit for Newbies

August 20, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

Its Back to school time!
It’s both exciting and daunting at the same time. I always loved this time of year. I would get new clothes and new supplies and it was all very exciting. It was like a fresh start. As a wee one I actually thought that the new year happened in September and not January…I was not the brightest crayon.
With the new school year starting I have a lot of subbies and some students starting to experiment with makeup and are allowed to wear it for the first time. I made this video outlining everything you would need. It only includes the basics and are very easy to use. Make sure to subscribe to my channel as I’m uploading a look using this starter kit soon. You don’t want to miss it!
Here’s the video but don’t forget to scroll past it for a list of products, how much, and where to get them.

Golden Neutral Date Night Makeup Tutorial

May 21, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

photoMatt (My Boyfriend) and I decided to have a date night on Friday night. One of my birthday presents was a gift certificate to Earls so we decided to go a little fancier and try it out. It was a really nice night. I had the chicken brie sandwich with fig jam and Matt had the kung pow chicken rice bowl.
Since it was a little bit fancier than we usually go I decided to try out a golden neutral eye using my fave BH cosmetics palette.
Here is my tutorial on how to do it 🙂 I’m proud I got it all in in under 5 minutes.
