Makeup Monday | My wedding makeup

November 7, 2016 by Sarah Leave a Comment

I was honoured to marry my best friend on July 31st, 2016…

🙄 blegh too much sap…

I’m not very “romantic” and roll my eyes at the ends of Disney princess movies BUT in all seriousness, I did marry someone amazing & it was one of the best days of my life.

Taylor Swift Inspired Hair Routine + Bad Salon experience

March 8, 2015 by Sarah Leave a Comment

Taylor and Sarah
For my birthday I decided to treat myself for a haircut. I originally went to this new place by my house. Price was good and it was so convenient for me so I went in. I’m a trained hairdresser and have not had the ‘real’ salon experience in over 7 years. Going in I decided not to share this detail about myself in case it made her nervous. [Read more…]

Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix & Peppermint Marshmallows

December 18, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

I absolutely love making things from scratch. When My boyfriend, Matt, and I were living our year without plastic (single use disposables & packaging) we had to make a lot of things from scratch. It’s such an adventure trying to figure out ways to do things. Sometimes you’d be surprised at how easy most things are to do from scratch.
That being said, Matt and I had to create all these christmas gifts for our family and friends sans plastic. This hot chocolate & Marshmallow duo quickly became popular as it was fairly easy and very impressive.

Everyday Essientals

August 25, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

I posted a video on my youtube channel for things I feel are useful to have with you everyday. I called it the Everyday Essentials/Emergency Kit.
Most females carry purses or a bag of sorts. We seem to be drawn to bigger bags because our current one doesn’t seem to fit everything we need. This problem never resolves itself after purchasing a larger bag/purse we always find ways to fill it.
I am no exception to this. Within the past two years Ive accumulated so many bags and purses. Since I have so Many I do like to switch between each one. With the issue of having so much crap switching out bags makes it difficult to make sure to bring everything with you. I have come up with the solution to have your everyday essentials/emergency kit in a separate smaller bag that you can take out easily and just transfer between bags. It also keeps everything neat, compact and tidy. It has all your daily needs minus wallet keys and cell phone. you will be prepared for anything at any time and it will be easy to access.
Here is the video where I will explain what I include and why.
Don’t forget to scroll further on this page to see where you can get some of the items Ive got in my kit.

Cute little Clutch.
My purple one is no longer available but this is a gold one which is also my mark.

Shine Blotters
These are the same ones Ive got. I really like that the packaging is not thick

Mini Brushes
These are the same ones I have. I like that each brush has its own slot. Its small and has a zipper but does not get caught on the bristles of the brushes. Having a case for the brushes is great. Its easy to grab and you don’t have to go searching.

Powder
I have used this powder and works well. Its a bigger and deeper compact so Its a little harder to put into your kit but If you’ve got the room its a good add. Currently I have the Clean and Clear blue powder to help with sweaty/greasy face.

April Fails and Favourites

April Faves and Fails
This month I got to try a lot of different products. I had lots of new stuff to try and test out. I had some things I loved and some things I just did not like.

For My Favourite Here is my list:
E.L.F Mineral Eyeshadow in Lunch Break
E.L.F Mineral Eyeshadow in Beauty Queen
I like both of these colours because they are neutral and great for a subtle looks. I tend to wear subtle neutrals most often and I really like how warm and mild the colours are.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
I like this as an eyeshadow base. I’ve been skipping my primer and going straight for this. It is matte and not too creamy. It also makes the shadow pigments stand out when you put them over the white background of Milk.

E.L.F Eyebrow filler and lifter
This eyebrow filler is great. Part of its greatness is the sharpener as the lid! Its genius!
I dont use the ‘lifter’ side as its not quite the right colour. I will use the filler end on the blank spots on my brows and use my brow brush to blend them in. Its the perfect matte brown and blends nicely.

Avon SuperShock Mascara in Black
I love love this mascara. I forgot about it since using benefit’s ‘they’re real ‘ mascara (which I love as well) but since my trial size is done I started using this again. I find it does not clump whatsoever and the think wand and bristles help comb and separate my lashes to help coat them better. Its also nice because Avon is not as expensive as benefit.

E.L.F Lip Stains
I love lip stains. I think they are the best invention in lip products. You can wear them alone or with lipstick on top. Ive tried the loreal/revlon 24 hour lipsticks but I found they flaked off and were extra drying. The lip stains just stain you lips. I’d suggest at least a balm over it just because the stain itself does nothing for the condition of your lips and they feel ‘natural’. If you wear lipstick over it will naturally fade away as the day goes along but who will know? you’ve got the lip stain to cover you! I have every elf colour.

My least Favourites are:
Mark. Light Bright Lighten & Depuff Eye Gel
NYX Photo-Loving Primer in Green
E.L.F Makeup Mist and Set
Hard Candy 1000 Lashes Fiberized mascara
Check out the video for my explanation why these are my least favourite.
